La Droite populaire en demande la démission de Roselyne Bachelot

François Fillon a jugé "grossier" et "presque totalitaire" l'appel lancé par des députés UMP issus de la Droite populaire à la démission de la ministre Roselyne Bachelot pour sa prise de position en faveur du mariage homosexuel, dans une interview au quotidien Nice-Matin de  samedi.

"La Droite populaire a été plus qu'excessive en demandant la démission de Roselyne Bachelot après sa prise de position", déclare le Premier ministre.

"C'est grossier. Sur des sujets comme ça, on ne peut pas exiger que les gens renoncent à leurs convictions. C'est presque totalitaire de demander ça", ajoute-t-il.

Plusieurs membres de ce collectif ont réclamé la démission de la ministre des Solidarités, qui est une proche de François Fillon, après que celle-ci eut réaffirmé être favorable au mariage homosexuel.

Selon eux, Roselyne Bachelot "doit démissionner de ses fonctions suite à sa déclaration soutenant une proposition de loi du Parti socialiste visant à autoriser le mariage homosexuel alors que celle-ci a été rejetée la veille par la majorité parlementaire".

Mercredi, la ministre avait estimé à propos du mariage homosexuel que "de toute façon, cela se fera". C'est une "question de mois, d'années", avait-elle dit.

Affirmant qu'elle aurait voté le texte du PS en ce sens, elle a déclaré, lors de "Questions d'Info" LCP/France Info/AFP: "J'ai remarqué que sur ces sujets, à la fin, j'avais toujours gagné".

Dans son entretien à Nice-Matin, François Fillon exprime pour sa part son opposition à ce sujet.

Cela relève de "convictions personnelles et elles sont toutes respectables. Personnellement, je suis opposé au mariage homosexuel", souligne le Premier ministre.

Il se dit néanmoins "favorable à une amélioration du PaCS", ajoutant citer "souvent en exemple ce que fait Christian Estrosi à Nice avec la célébration du PaCS en mairie".

"C'est d'ailleurs une disposition qu'avait prévue le président Sarkozy dans son programme en 2007", note-t-il.

La prise de position sévère du Premier ministre à l'égard des députés de la Droite populaire à l'origine de la démarche à l'encontre de Roselyne Bachelot intervient alors que les relations se sont dégradées entre François Fillon et une partie du groupe UMP.

Si le chef du gouvernement a en grande partie dû sa reconduction à Matignon en novembre dernier au soutien unanime des parlementaires de droite, certains - principalement au sein de l'aile droite du parti - lui ont reproché depuis ses prises de position sur le RSA, le débat sur la laïcité et la consigne de vote vis-à-vis du FN.

The Right People demand the resignation of Roselyne Bachelot
